What We Support
Strengthening Midland Through Purposeful Giving
Scharbauer Foundation supports organizations and initiatives that help individuals succeed personally and professionally while strengthening Midland’s long-term future. Through strategic investments and community partnerships, the Foundation works to improve quality of life by supporting projects that create meaningful, measurable, and lasting impact.
Grantmaking is centered on four primary focus areas: Education, Healthcare, Human Services, and Quality of Place. Across each area, the Foundation prioritizes projects that demonstrate strong leadership, collaboration, sustainability, and community benefit.

Investing in Midland's Future
Scharbauer Foundation believes strong communities are built through long-term investment in people, places, and opportunity. The Foundation partners with nonprofits, school systems, healthcare providers, civic organizations, and community leaders to support initiatives that address critical needs while helping create a stronger future for generations to come.
From educational opportunity and healthcare access to family support services, parks, recreation, and community development, the Foundation’s work reflects a commitment to helping Midland remain a vibrant place to live and operate a business.

Education
Investing in Education. Strengthening our community.
Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders; as we envision the future of Midland, expanding education is critical. Scharbauer Foundation invests in education initiatives that improve academic achievement, expand access to opportunity, and strengthen pathways to long-term success for Midland students and families. The Foundation’s priorities include early childhood education, public and charter schools, workforce development, teacher pipelines, higher education partnerships, and career readiness initiatives.

Healthcare
Investing in Midland’s Health
Great cities have excellent healthcare facilities, and Midland should be no exception. The Foundation supports healthcare initiatives focused on improving access to quality physical and behavioral healthcare services while strengthening long-term regional healthcare infrastructure and workforce development. Investments include behavioral healthcare, medical education partnerships, patient care services, healthcare facility expansion, and community wellness initiatives.

Quality of Place
Making Midland a Better Place to Be
Vibrant green spaces. Welcoming places to meet and connect with friends and family. Landmark destinations you won’t find elsewhere. These are the features that make a community a great place to live and work, and they’re the types of projects supported by our Quality of Place investments. We support initiatives that enhance Midland’s livability, connectivity, and long-term vibrancy, including parks, recreation, downtown development, community facilities, infrastructure improvements, and projects that create meaningful places for residents, families, and visitors to gather and thrive.

Human Services
Supporting Essential Needs in Human Services
We’re committed to serving those in need across Midland, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Scharbauer Foundation invests in organizations and programs that provide care, support, and essential resources for Midland individuals and families. Funding priorities include childcare, food assistance, housing support, youth development, disability services, recovery programs, senior services, and initiatives serving vulnerable populations throughout the community.
